Joint second place and a highly commended award at the World Architecture Festival

Lapalala Wilderness School has won JOINT SECOND PLACE and a HIGHLY COMMENDED AWARD at the World Architecture Festival held in Singapore this week!

Initially one of 14 designs shortlisted in the School Category of the 2023 World Architecture Festival, this prestigious annual festival has brought together the global architecture community for over a decade. www.worldarchitecturefestival.com

The theme this year was ‘Catalyst’ which could be no better matched to Lapalala’s true off-the-grid, eco-build with Net Zero carbon status campus situated in the Waterberg.

“It was an incredible honour to have been nominated by architects Local Studio. Making the shortlist was exciting, but receiving second place in the Schools Category is beyond my wildest imagination.
